EVENTS
We understand that developing the habits of contemplative practice may be difficult in some home settings as well as when it is a task to be done alone. To that end we are able to hold a space for you each Tuesday during school terms in and around our Library at St Peter & Emmaus Community Church, 56 Green Street, JOONDANNA.
Someone is generally there to begin the day at about 9.30am with Morning Prayer from the Dayspring book of Daily Prayer. The space is conducive to reading, walking a labyrinth, and sitting in contemplation indoors or outside. There will be like-minded people to chat with - or not. At about 12.30pm those who are there will gather in the chapel or foyer to celebrate a Eucharist together, after which, you are welcome to have lunch together - there is a deli just down the street if you want to buy something.
This time is made freely available to members and friends of Dayspring. We hope it will be a place that nurtures your spiritual life and helps you develop your contemplative practice. You are welcome to simply come.
We say to others, come when you can, go when you must. Enjoy!
Dayspring Quiet Days are scheduled for the 2nd Tuesday of each month, except where that falls within the School Holidays. This means there will be 9 gatherings for the year -
11 February, 11 March, 8 April, 13 May, 9 June, 12 August, 9 September, 14 October and 11 November.
We will continue to meet in Mundaring for these days, but please note, that there will be someone available at St Peter & Emmaus Church, 56 Green St, JOONDANNA, on these days to walk with you through a quiet morning, and we will make some resources available via our Newsletter and website to guide you through a Quiet Day at Home.

Dayspring wants to encourage you to take up contemplative practices at home - as part of your personal spiritual life. While we offer events that bring you together with like-minded people to undertake such practices as well as events that will expand your range of practices in the contemplative life, much of what you will do is most likely to be done at home. We have a booklet of information about some of the simplest contemplative exercises HERE. It might help you along the way.
As another way of engaging with our monthly Quiet Days at Nathanael's Rest, we publish the notes used for the reflections there each month in our Newsletter. Go HERE and subscribe to our Newsletter. Then you will have the option of having a Quiet Day at Home - or at your favourite get-away.
