Over the years since our inception, the Guiding Committee has chosen to confer Life Memberships on a number of people whose contribution to the life of Dayspring is considered most significant. They include the four people who were the movers and shakers in establishing Dayspring - Brian and Patricia Stitt, the Rev'd Dr Jennifer Turner OAM, and Joy Eichorn. In addition to these, Life Memberships have been conferred on Lynnette French, Dr Brian Holliday, Abigail Lewis, Sandy Clifton and Dr Beth Roberton. This page seeks to honor them and share the stories of the contribution they have made to our community.

Dr Beth Roberton has been part of Dayspring since its inception and did not take long in finding a niche for her contribution. In 2003 she was appointed Dean of Studies and since 2004 she has guided 10 cohorts of students through a program of training in Spiritual Direction, initially as a Dayspring Award and then as a Nationally Accredited Graduate Diploma in Spiritual Direction through the Vocation Education and Training System. While doing this, Beth was engaged in drawing Dayspring into some significant national and international circles of interest and influence with others interested in Spiritual Direction and the Contemplative life. This brought numerous national and international speakers to Perth. She also juggled study for a PhD (focused on the benefit of spiritual direction to women who have come from conservative religious contexts), the establishment of a long-held dream of a Retreat Centre (Nathanael's Rest) in the Perth Hills, and the inauguration of the Australian Network of Spiritual Direction. In 2010, and again in 2020, she stepped into the breach when Dayspring was in need of leadership and helped settle Dayspring into its current location within the Joint Venture (Anglican & UCA) Church of St Peter & Emmaus in Joondanna.
