The Dayspring Community (WA) seeks to be an ecumenical, open, contemplative community, expressed in various structures across WA, supporting others across Australia, and even into South East Asia. The Dayspring Community is known for its commitment to contemplative spirituality and for encouraging, supporting, and developing people, regardless of their backgrounds, who are seeking a transformative relationship with the Spirit of God. Dayspring people are known for their love for God and love for their neighbour, particularly those who are marginalized and considered to be the ‘least of these’.
Dayspring is not a church and we would not seek to take anyone away from a faith community or church they belong to. We aim to offer a safe place for people from various Christian traditions to explore ancient Christian contemplative practices as a pathway to enrich their own lives with God. The resources in Dayspring Daily Prayer and Pilgrims' Eucharist are our contribution to achieving these ends.
Dayspring is a quiet place in the midst of everyday life where you can find God through;
personal or community retreats,
seminars and teaching on prayer,
the assistance of a qualified spiritual director,
intentional learning through coursework,
participation in a contemplative community.
Dayspring is the sun rising in the east at the beginning of a new day.
It is a name given to Jesus who came to show people the way to God.
It speaks of freshness and cleansing and the path to wholeness.
Many of us who have been long in the faith are seeking God with renewed vigour. Others, encouraged by a renewed interest in spirituality, want help in the spiritual life to discover for the first time a relationship with God. Some who have given up on the church want to experience God and be guided in the things of the Spirit in a new way.
