How precious to me are your thoughts, God!
How vast the sum of them! Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand – when I awake, I am still with you. (Psalm 139:17-18, NIV) As the day closes, I centre again on the Presence of the Three I worship you God, the keeper of my soul. I embrace you Jesus, my constant companion. I inhale you Spirit, promise of the world to come. God of light Radiance in our darkness Christ of light Dayspring of our morning Spirit of light Love-flame in our hearts (Repeat) Pause in silence As I listen to your word may I hear your gentle whisper. Readings from the Lectionary May your word be in my sleeping, my dreaming and my waking this night, that it may watch over and replenish my soul. Time for reflection Deep peace of the running wave to you. Deep peace of the flowing air to you. Deep peace of the quiet earth to you. Deep peace of the shining stars to you. Deep peace of the gentle night to you. Moon and stars pour their healing light on you. Deep peace of Christ, of Christ the light of the world to you. Deep peace of Christ to you. (A Gaelic blessing) Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us. Save us from the time of trial and deliver us from evil. For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours now and forever. Amen. Silence or Prayer for others As a deer gets thirsty for streams of water, I truly am thirsty for you, my God. In my heart, I am thirsty for you, the living God. When will I see your face? Day and night my tears are my only food, as everyone keeps asking, “Where is your God?” Sorrow floods my heart, when I remember leading the worshipers to your house. I can still hear them shout their joyful praises. Why am I discouraged? Why am I restless? I trust you! And I will praise you again because you help me, and you are my God. (Psalm 42:1-5, CEV) May the Lord bless you and take care of you; May the Lord be kind and gracious to you; May the Lord look on you with favour and give you peace. Amen. (Numbers 6:24-26, GNB) |
