Praise the LORD.
Praise the LORD, my soul. I will praise the Lord all my life; I will sing praise to my God as long as I live. (Psalm 146:1-2, NIV) As I rise this day in the Presence of the Three I worship you Creator God; Maker, Sustainer and Lover of all; who alone is uncreated. As I rise this day in the Presence of the Three I embrace you Christ Jesus; Son of Mary, Son of God; my truest friend. As I rise this day in the Presence of the Three I inhale you gracious Spirit, breath of the Living God, who draws me into wholeness. For the gift of this day, for the gifts of love and life, for the gift of fellow pilgrims and companions on the way, we give you thanks, O Lord. Pause in silence and pray for one another. As I listen to your word may I hear your gentle whisper. Readings for the day from the Lectionary As your word goes with me this day, may it renew my heart and mind. Time for reflection Give strength to hands that are tired and to knees that tremble with weakness. Tell everyone who is discouraged, “Be strong and don't be afraid! God is coming to your rescue … The blind will be able to see, and the deaf will hear. The lame will leap and dance, and those who cannot speak will shout for joy. Streams of water will flow through the desert; the burning sand will become a lake, and dry land will be filled with springs.” (Isaiah 35:3-7a, GNB) Pause in silence Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us. Save us from the time of trial and deliver us from evil. For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours now and forever. Amen. Prayer (focus on our families and ourselves) Through the tender mercy of our God, With which the Dayspring from on high has visited us; To give light to those who sit in darkness and the shadow of death, To guide our feet into the way of peace. (Luke 1:78-79, NKJV) Be, Lord Jesus, a bright flame before me, a guiding star above me, a smooth path below me, a kindly shepherd behind me: today ... and forever. Amen (Prayer of Columba of Iona) |
