You who live in the shelter of the Most High,
who abide in the shadow of the Almighty, will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust.” (Psalm 91:1-2, NRSV) As the day closes, I centre again on the Presence of the Three I worship you God, the keeper of my soul. I embrace you Jesus, my constant companion. I inhale you Spirit, promise of the world to come. God of hope Refresh us in your love Christ of hope Calm us with your peace Spirit of hope Fill us with your joy (Repeat) Pause in silence As I listen to your word may I hear your gentle whisper. Readings from the Lectionary May your word be in my sleeping, my dreaming and my waking this night, that it may watch over and replenish my soul. Time for reflection When we say "God is eternal," we mean: God is eternally young, God is ever green, ever verdant, ever flowering. Every action of God is new, for God makes all things new. God is the newest thing there is; the youngest thing there is. God is the beginning and if we are united to God we become new again. (Meister Eckhart) Pause in silence Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us. Save us from the time of trial and deliver us from evil. For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours now and forever. Amen. Silence or Prayer for others Though you have not seen [Jesus], you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, for you are receiving the end result of your faith, the salvation of your souls. (1Peter 1:8-9, NIV) In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety. Amen. (Psalm 4:8, NIV) |
