On the Edge - Quakers & Social Justice Sunday 20th June 3.00pm - 5.00pm 19th Quakers have a very history of a passionate engagement with issues of Social Justice. Nearly a hundred years before the American 13th Amendment of the Constitution officially abolished slavery the Quakers agreed to free their slaves. In their regular meetings as Friends meditation is a central practice and silence is observed unless prompted by the Spirit.
Our On The Edge events seek to explore the spiritual practices of other faith groups and this event creates an opportunity us to enjoy their hospitality and learn.
