Sensible Shoes is a novel written by Sharon Garlough Brown that tells the story of four women who sign up for a course at a retreat Centre. This is a work of fiction, carefully crafted to include an invitation to, and guidance along, a journey into a deeper relationship with God.

“The sacred journey is a pilgrimage for those who are thirsty for more of God. This journey is for all those who are dissatisfied with living on the surface and who want to travel deeper into God’s heart. We invite you to come and explore spiritual disciplines as we seek to create a sacred space for God.”

Our introductory session at St Peter and Emmaus is coming up next week, on Thursday 30 March 2023, 7 – 9 pm. The address is 56 Green Street, Joondanna. Anyone is welcome to attend this session, and there is no cost at all for this meeting. Invite a friend who has read the book. At this introduction, we will be sharing with each other about our reactions to the book Sensible Shoes, as well as setting the scene for how the retreats will happen. If you already have a copy of the Study Guide, we'd like you to start week one daily study, and I will send out the first chapter by email if you don’t have a copy yet. Dayspring has two copies for people to borrow, please let me know if you need one.

Our retreat sessions start in April- there are 5 Retreat days at Nathanael’s Rest
